Couples massage setup with two massage tables side by side in a living room

Couples Massage at Home: What to Expect

A couples massage at home is one of those things that sounds complicated until you actually do it. Then you realize it is the simplest version of the experience possible. No reservation. No driving to a spa. No waiting in a lobby while someone finds matching robes. Two therapists show up at your door, set up two tables in your living room, and you and your partner each get a full professional massage at the same time.

Here is exactly how it works.

Before the Session

Clear the space. You need roughly 14 by 12 feet of open floor space. That is about the size of a living room with the coffee table moved, or a master bedroom with some furniture pushed to the side. Most rooms work. If you are not sure, measure or describe your space when you book and we will tell you if it works.

Have sheets ready. Each table needs its own set: one fitted sheet (twin size), one flat sheet, one pillowcase. That is two complete sets for a couples session. Old sheets are fine. If you do not have two twin sets, a basic pack from any store costs about $15.

Decide on your modalities. This is the part most people do not realize: you and your partner choose independently. One person can get Swedish while the other gets deep tissue. One can focus on their lower back while the other wants full-body relaxation. You do not have to match. The sessions are fully customized per person.

Pick your time. We book couples sessions as late as 10pm, seven days a week. The most popular time slots are Friday and Saturday at 7pm or 8pm. Weekend evenings fill up, so booking a few days in advance is smart.

When the Therapists Arrive

Two licensed therapists pull up at the same time. Each one carries their own professional table, face cradle, oils, and supplies. They introduce themselves, ask where you want the setup, and start assembling the tables. Total setup time is about ten minutes.

While the tables are going up, each therapist has a separate intake conversation with their client. This means your partner’s preferences do not affect yours. You tell your therapist what you want. Your partner tells theirs. Different modalities, different pressure levels, different focus areas. All fine.

During the Session

Both sessions start at the same time. You and your partner are on your tables, a few feet apart, each getting the session you chose. If you added aromatherapy ($40 add-on, $20 per person), essential oils fill the room. If you want music, we can play ours or you can put on your own playlist through a speaker.

The experience is shared but private. You are in the same room. You can hear the same music. But each session is between you and your therapist. Some couples talk during the session. Some do not say a word. Both are perfectly normal.

Communication works the same as a solo session. If you want more pressure, less pressure, or extra time on a specific area, just say so. Your therapist adjusts in real time. You do not need to whisper or worry about interrupting your partner’s session.

After the Session

Both therapists time their sessions to finish within a few minutes of each other. When the massage is done, both therapists step out. You and your partner get up at your own pace. Take a minute. There is no rush.

The tables come down in about ten minutes. Your therapists check in, make sure you are both feeling good, and head out.

Then comes the best part: you are already home. You do not have to get dressed, walk through a parking lot, or drive anywhere. The couch is right there. The kitchen is right there. Open a bottle of wine, order food, or just lie there together. Your evening continues exactly where it should: at home, fully relaxed.

Why It Beats a Spa Couples Package

I have nothing against spas. But here is the reality of a spa couples massage:

You both drive to the spa (one car or two). You check in. You wait in a lobby. Someone walks you to a couples room. The room has two tables, pre-selected music, and a temperature you cannot control. You get your massage. Afterward, you are handed robes and directed to a “relaxation lounge” where you sit in chairs with strangers. Then you get dressed, check out at the front desk, and drive home in traffic. By the time you are actually on your couch, 90 minutes have been added to your evening.

At home, the session ends and you are done. No checkout. No drive. No parking lot. No losing the relaxation to a freeway on-ramp. The savings in time and stress are as valuable as the massage itself.

Pricing

Couples pricing is based on your zone, same as solo sessions.

DurationLocal ZoneExtended ZonePremium Zone
60 min$240$300$400
90 min$340$400$500
120 min$480$600$700

That includes two therapists, two tables, and all supplies. Aromatherapy is available as a $40 add-on ($20 per person). No membership. No hidden fees. No tips required (but always appreciated).

For context, spa couples packages in the Santa Clarita Valley and Antelope Valley typically run $250 to $400 for 60 minutes, plus tips, plus driving, plus your time. The at-home pricing is competitive before you factor in the convenience. After you factor in the convenience, it is not even close.

Common Questions

Do we have to be romantic partners? No. Book with a friend, a sibling, a parent, an adult child. The “couples” label describes the format (two people, two therapists, same room), not the relationship. I have done couples sessions for mother-daughter duos, best friends, and college roommates.

Can one person book a shorter session? Yes. One person can book 60 minutes while the other books 90 or 120. Both sessions start at the same time. The shorter session ends first, and that therapist packs up quietly while the other session continues.

What if we want different modalities? That is the default, not the exception. Each person chooses independently. Mix and match however you want.

Can we do this in a hotel room? Yes. We serve hotels, Airbnbs, and short-term rentals throughout our service area. Valencia hotels near Six Flags and corporate parks are popular venues for couples sessions. Just provide the hotel name and room number when you book.
